The Long Island Progressive Coalition is a grassroots community-based organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development, revitalizing local communities, enhancing human dignity, creating effective democracy, and achieving economic & social justice.

 

LIPC Bill of Rights

Decent and affordable housing and health care
Taxation in accordance with ability to pay
Decent and well paying jobs
An environment that is not toxic to people or animals
Respect for individual differences
A clean, safe and attractive community
Representative government truly of, by and for the people

Citizen Action of New York is a grassroots organization fighting for economic, social and environmental justice.  Founded four years after the Long Island Progressive Coalition, they were looking to expand their membership to encompass all of New York and Long Island.
